Although there are times when a cell would come in handy--like when they are out with friends or at various activities with uncertain pick-up times--I am very happy that they are still not in the habit of constantly texting and calling their friends with inane updates on what they are (or aren't) doing. Living without a cell phone gives them the time to be actively involved in REAL activities as opposed to virtual ones. <br /><br />The older of my daughters does have a facebook account, but I know the pass word and can check it occassionally and talk to her if I find anything too inappropriate. However, I try to give her a little freedom to figure out what is right and wrong for herself. So far, so good.
